The Perfect Oven Roasted Whole Chicken

From Whippoorwill Farms

I’m not going to lie, when I first came across this recipe, I was hesitant to try it. I had convinced myself, the end product would be a dried up Chicken, similar to the turkey on National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Wow! I was WRONG! This recipe will give you a Rotisserie Chicken right out of the oven. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find the original recipe to give credit where credit is due. Whoever you are, thank you! Try it for yourself!

Serves: Well, it depends on how hungry you are!! And the size of your chicken.....

Ingredients
1 whole Chicken
Sea salt, season salt, or other salt of choice

Step by Step Instructions
 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Rinse chicken thoroughly inside and out, then sit upright to dry. Pat chicken until completely dry with paper towels. Place chicken in a nonstick pan and completely coat the inside and outside with season salt (don't be scared). You can substitute sea salt or any other salt for the seasoned salt. The important thing is you use salt, and use it generously! You can add any other seasonings you would like, but salt is a must to keep juices in and make a crispy skin. Place coated chicken in oven for approximately 1 hour. Make sure your chicken is thoroughly cooked by using a meat thermometer. Enjoy!
